The reality TV star wed businessman Jason Hoppy Sunday at the Four Seasons restaurant in New York, People.com reports.

“I’m a real housewife!” Frankel wrote on Twitter Monday. “On way to honeymoon. best night of my life. your messages were so beautiful & sentimental. have a great week tweeps!”

When she wasn’t planning the wedding, Frankel said she was cooking up a storm in preparation of becoming a real housewife.

She recently appeared The Early Show Saturday Edition’s” Chef on a Shoestring, where she accepted the challenge of preparing a three-course, healthy, delicious meal for four on a budget of $40.

“The Real Housewives of New York City,” which airs Thursdays, will feature a spin-off episode that will air the ceremony called “Bethenny’s Getting Married.”

Tara Reid Wedding Plans

Tara Reid

“I’ve always wanted that fairy-tale Cinderella look,” Tara Reid says in the new issue of In Touch Weekly.  She and fiancé, entrepreneur Michael Axtmann, plan to wed “somewhere warm,” she says, but doesn’t say when. There are still details to plan, including picking a dress.

“There’s only one moment in your entire life when you can dress like that, so I want to go over-the-top. A total princess.”

She has enlisted Rani Totman, of St. Pucchi, to design her gown, and she invited In Touch along take a look at some choices. “I’ve been married in movies and stuff,” she says. “But it’s not like this, picking out my own dress. Seeing myself and picturing Michael at the altar, I get butterflies in my stomach.”

True Blood stars Stephen Moyer and Anna Paquin were definitely out of the shadows as they quit the creepy environs of Bon Temps for a day in the California sun.

The pair – who star as Vampire Bill and Sookie respectively in the supernatural drama – were out at the Make-A-Wish Foundation charity bash at Santa Monica Pier in Los Angeles.

They’re now engaged after Essex-born Stephen and former Piano star Anna fell for each other on set.

Other stars at the do, which was raising money for seriously-ill children, included Mischa Barton, Rosario Dawson and Adam Sandler.

Hilary Duff snaps photo of new engagement ring

It’s raining brides-to-be in Hollywood! Seems like every day another young starlet is announcing that her boyfriend has put a ring on it.

From Nicole Richie showing off her sparkler on David Letterman‘s Late Show to Hilary Duff snapping pics of her huge rock after hockey player beau Mike Comrie recently popped the question in Hawaii, we’re giving you a Top Five countdown of today’s biggest and blingiest new celebrity engagement rings…

1. Duff comes out on top with the 14-carat princess-cut diamond her NHL boyfriend reportedly picked up in Vegas for $1 milllion. We can only imagine what the happy couple’s wedding will cost be like.

2. Coming in a close second is Carrie Underwood. The yellow diamond ring that her hockey player man, Mike Fisher, slipped on her finger has been estimated to be worth between $150,000 and—get this!—$800,000. No matter what the cost, we do know Underwood loves it because it’s a one-of-a-kind from her favorite jewelry designer, Johnathon Arndt.

3. Leave it to fashionista Nicole Richie to take the reins when it came time for rocker Joel Madden to ask for her hand in marriage. The former Simple Life reality star lands in third place with the almost $500,000 4-carat ring she designed with celebrity jeweler Neil Lane. The mommy of two debuted the bauble earlier this month when she announced their engagement on Late Show With David Letterman.

4. We’ve got a three-way tie for No. 4! Kristen Bell is sporting a 3-carat rock from funnyman fiance Dax Shepard, while Emily Blunt is doing the same thanks to her Office mate John Krasinski. Brit bad-boy comic Russell Brand proved he has a serious side by inscribing the 3-carat ring he gave to Katy Perry with the words, “The one I’ve been waiting for.”

5. Anna Paquin slides in at No. 5. Her True Blood costar and real-life love Stephen Moyer worked with jewelry designer pal Cathy Waterman to create a truly unique rustic diamond ring.

Isla Fisher and Sacha Baron Cohen

Isla Fisher and Sacha Baron Cohen

As his alter ego might say: “Great success!” Borat star Sacha Baron Cohen has married his longtime girlfriend, Australian actress Isla Fisher, according to Woman’s Day.

The ceremony reportedly took place in Paris, where the two spent a week at the Hotel Ritz and were photographed walking around the nearby Place Vendome wearing matching berets.

“We did it – we’re married!” Fisher told friends in an e-mail, reports Women’s Day. “It was the absolute best day of my life and in so many beautiful moments I missed you all so much. I thought of you as everything was happening, but Sacha and I wanted no fuss – just us!”

The couple, who have been together for about eight years, have a 2-year-old daughter, Olive, born in 2007.

Fisher is currently filming the black comedy Burke & Hare for Animal House director Jon Landis in London. In May, Baron Cohen is set to go before the cameras in Paris for Martin Scorsese’s Invention of Hugo Cabret, adapted from Brian Selznick’s historical novel.

Born in England and educated at Cambridge, Baron Cohen, 38, is notoriously reticent with the press, rarely giving interviews out of character. But he may have given Fisher a sly compliment at the Sydney premiere of Borat in 2006, when he told reporters, “I would very much like to find an Australian wife. My preference is for woman who has more hair on head than back.”
Fisher, 34, was born in Oman but raised in Australia. She got her acting career rolling in the mid-’90s on the Aussie soap opera Home and Away, but she’s also written two best-selling teen-romance novels. She is best known for her film work in Wedding Crashers and Confessions of a Shopaholic.

She told a British newspaper in 2005: “Sacha makes me laugh more than anyone, which is why I’m marrying him.” She added: “I find weddings really boring. They give speeches, your aunt kisses you on the cheek, and you’re at a boring table. But it’s different when it’s your own.”

Baron Cohen first rose to fame in the late 1990s as the wannabe rapper Ali G on British television. His character gained new fans in 2003 when Da Ali G Show hit U.S. shores, airing on HBO.

The show also featured Baron Cohen as Borat, the Kazakh journalist; and Bruno, the gay Austrian fashionista. Both of those characters were the basis for feature films.

Amber and Dave Wedding

by Cassandra, an ABG bridal blogger

Thursday, February 4, 2010

3.2 months. 14.2 weeks. 100 days. 2400 hours. 144,000 minutes. 8,640,000 seconds. And, it all comes down to one moment. The moment you walk down the aisle to the one you love, the one to whom you are going to pledge the rest of your life. Could you plan your wedding in that short amount of time? Nashville newlywed Amber did, and she wrote about her journey on the blog aptly named 100 Days to Plan a Wedding.

Thoroughly impressed by this concept and her hard work, I think it only right to share with you Amber’s inspirations and reflections for her wedding day. Not only did she plan a wedding in 100 days, but she also did it on a budget! {Brides, start taking notes!}

1. What was your biggest splurge that you thought was well worth it?

Photography! It was the one think I was willing to blow my budget on. Once the flowers are dead and the cake is stale, the photos are all we have to remember our big day. I was so blessed to find Matt Vietti and his creative eye! {you can read about her decision here & here}

2. What did you think was the biggest waste of your money?

Nothing. We were very frugal and thought out all our purchases. {be sure to check out her budget recaps}

3. What was your favorite Do-It-Yourself project?
The Paper Poms! They were very time consuming, but they were a lot of fun to do with my mom, and my various friends and family who stopped in and helped make one.

4. What would you go back and have someone else do that was originally a DIY project?

Invitations! DIY invitations were a great idea in theory, but they were, by far, the most tedious and annoying thing we had to do. They required a lot of assembly we didn’t know about until we got home and opened the box. The invitations were an odd size so we couldn’t print them at home. We ended up having to spend $60 extra and take them to Kinkos. {be sure to read about it here & here}

5. Why 100 days?

Dave {her husband} knew his brother was being deployed to Iraq in October and his best friend was also leaving in October for Naval boot camp. He wanted both of them to be a part of our special day and didn’t want to wait another year plus to get married so he popped the question in June! By the time I had processed what was happening, I realized we only had 100 days to go. That is what inspired the blog and my thought process throughout the entire planning process!

Today’s blog was written by Cassandra, an ABG bridal blogger.  She is also a Nashville bride-to-be and writes from her unique perspective!  Read more about Cassandra here.

Vintage+wedding+couple“Have you ever wondered if you should have been born in a different era?”  That’s the question curator Laurie Kearney and photographer Rosemary Wagner are asking local brides who are on a budget yet looking to infuse their wedding with a shot of nostalgia, glamour, classic design and “Hollywood era” styling.

Your Vintage Wedding Fair will be held on Saturday, March 20, from noon to 6 p.m.  Hosted by Kearney and Wagner of Gossamer Collective, a group of five Seattle-based artists who collaborate to organize and host events that promote and inspire art and music in the community, the fair will be held in the Gossamer Collective space in the Central District.

For an $8 entrance fee paid at the door, guests will receive complimentary champagne, light appetizers and the opportunity to meet with a select group of local vendors who can offer unique and affordable options for the wedding day. The first 24 guests at the event will receive goodie bags, which will include a copy of either Seattle Bride magazine or Seattle Metropolitan Bride & Groom magazine, hair and skin-care samples from Stylus Salon  and discount cards from the participating vendors. If you can’t get there early, there will also be a table set up where guests can pick up vendor samples and discount cards.

Vendors are comprised of photographers, designers and stylists, including: event host Rosemary Wagner, a wedding photographer with a vintage styling and imaging niche who provides a variety of wedding photography packages; Jennifer Witsil Creative, an invitation designer who creates custom designs in a sophisticated, feminine vintage style through fonts and colors; Rebekah J Designs, who creates custom jewelry for weddings and special events, including bridesmaid and groomsmen gifts; Jenny Bowker, a makeup artist who can do a wide range of vintage makeup styles, including Hollywood glamour, classic and retro; Orange Twist Cards, a letterpress invitation designer who creates a vintage look as well as custom, hand-illustrated images; Odd Duck Designs, a letterpress invitation designer who works with vintage textiles for a unique look; April Brimer of PrettyLittlePhotos.com , a photographer who creates custom photo-booth portraiture with backdrops designed according to the theme of the wedding; Stylus Salon , a hair-styling and nail salon which has a staff trained to accommodate a variety of styling requests, including vintage and classic; and TerraBella Flowers , a Greenwood florist with a friendly staff who can recreate vintage floral styles. Tables will be set up around the front and back of the Gossamer Collective space in a market-stall feel, allowing brides to easily peruse the vendors.

“All of the vendors offer reasonably priced services with a specialized style,” said Kearney and Wagner, who hope to make this a regular happening at Gossamer. They also stress that the atmosphere will be relaxed, with no two-hour lines or competitive or aggressive sales behavior by vendors.

Simon Cowell and Mezghan Hussainy

Simon Cowell and Mezghan Hussainy

Simon Cowell scowling – typical. Simon Cowell blushing? Indeed.

The famously cantankerous American Idol judge squirmed in his seat on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno on Monday as the host dissected reports of Cowell’s engagement to Idol makeup artist Mezhgan Hussainy.
“Are rumors you’re engaged true?” Leno asked. Cowell took a moment and responded carefully, “Are they true? Well, I do have somebody in my life now, Jay, yes. And I kinda made a decision this year to make somebody happy.”

As the audience cheered, Leno asked about the huge ring Hussainy has been sporting on her left hand.

“I thought she broke her arm,” Leno joked. Cowell responded, “It’s quite a big one, yes.”

When Leno called Cowell out for turning red, Cowell confessed, “I am blushing.” Leno asked, “Where did you, or may have, gotten engaged?” Cowell said, “I find this very uncomfortable. I was asleep, I think. No, look, I bought her the ring in London.”

Later, Leno spotted Hussainy, 36, in the audience and invited her to come on stage to join Cowell, 50. The pair looked giddy and comfortable with each other, said a witness.

As Cowell and Leno joked about what role, if any, Leno would have in Cowell’s future wedding – Cowell suggested Leno could be a flower girl – Cowell said that he would want a wedding “in the next 10 years” and on the subject of having children, added, “I’m kind of torn because I’m a bit too old to have kids, but then again I think it would be important to have a lot of me’s around in the future.”
