(CBS) Guests reportedly partied into the early hours following the royal wedding of Zara Phillips and Mike Tindall at Canongate Kirk on July 30, 2011, in Edinburgh, Scotland.

Queen Elizabeth II’s granddaughter and her rugby star husband didn’t return to their suite in the Palace of Holyroodhouse until 2 p.m. on Sunday, according to the UK’s Daily Mail, with Tindall still wearing his morning suit.

According to the paper, Queen Elizabeth II and the Duke of Edinburgh left the reception early, as did Prince Charles and the Duchess of Cornwall, to allow the younger royals to celebrate.

Guests reportedly enjoyed a sit-down dinner that included seafood and Scottish venison, along with wine and champagne.

At 10:30 p.m., the Daily Mail reports, attendees took to the dance floor. Revelers took shots from a vodka fountain and a few even snuck away for late-night snacks.

“It was just a family knees-up. Your archetypal wedding, really. Except with a lot of royals and rugby players. And a lot of drinking. In fact make that a hell of a lot of drinking,” a royal source told the paper.

There was also karaoke, according to Us magazine. Phillips and Tindall sang an ABBA song, and Prince William finished off the night singing Bon Jovi’s “Livin’ on a Prayer.”

“He sang karaoke! Kate stayed down in front of the stage but clapped and cheered while he sang,” a royal source told the magazine. “It was amazing.”

“Pretty much everyone stayed up all night,” the insider added. “I don’t even think Zara and Mike went to bed. They were too busy having fun with their friends.”

Phillips and Tindall exchanged vows – and platinum wedding bands – earlier Saturday at Edinburgh’s historic Cannongate Kirk.

Phillips wore an ivory silk and duchess satin gown by Stewart Parvin, a British designer favored by the queen, paired with Jimmy Choo shoes and a tiara on loan from Princess Anne. The accomplished equestrian reportedly bought the dress off the rack at her local boutique for 3,000 pounds (about $4,900). Tindall and his best man, fellow rugby player Iain Balshaw, sported custom-made morning suits made by Savile Row tailor Cad & The Dandy, along with Oliver Sweeney shoes.
