Chelsea Clinton Engagement Ring debut

Sunday night was the opening of Broadway’s “Promises, Promises.”  There was plenty buzz surrounding the opening night, mainly the debut of former first daughter, Chelsea Clinton’s, engagement ring.

Clinton, 30, arrived Sunday night on crutches sporting the diamond engagement ring that was given to her last November by her fiancé, Marc Mezvinsky.  Clinton who broke her heel, is expected to be off her crutches just in time for her upcoming summer nuptials.

There have been no reports of where the wedding will take place; however the public should not get their hopes up for a lavish event full of paparazzi.  The Secretary of State Hillary Clinton has said that it will be a private affair that will include only close friends and family “the way it should be.”

The former first daughter is set to marry investment banker Marc Mezvinsky, 32, this summer.  He popped the question over Thanksgiving last year. The two have been friends since childhood and attended college together. He is the son of Ed Mezvinsky of Iowa and former congressmen Marjorie Margolies-Mezvinsky of Pennsylvania.

According to recent reports, if Mezvinsky ever strays then she will walk away with $10 million. It seems that Clinton’s father’s heavily publicized affair had a lasting impact.

Emily Blunt and John Krasinski

The weather is finally getting warmer and you know what that means—weddings!

We brought you the deets on Carrie Underwood and Mike Fisher‘s summer soiree, and now we’ve got the goods on Emily Blunt and John Krasinski‘s big bash.

And it’s just around the corner.

The pair announced their engagement in August and will be heading down the aisle in “about a month,” a source tells E! News.

“She is planning the wedding right now and is down to the last-minute details,” the source says. “They picked up their wedding bands yesterday.”

The fashion-forward Devil Wears Prada star has tried on her fair share of bridal gowns, our snitch says.

“She looked at Monique Lhuillier and Vera Wang. She is definitely considering Monique Lhuillier.”

As for the event itself, it’s looking to be “a big wedding…probably in London or Los Angeles.”

Reps for the cutie couple did not immediately return calls seeking comment.

Blunt, 27, and Krasinski, 30, have been dating since November 2008.

Shown in the lofty heights of an airy two-level penthouse in the London Hotel on Sunday, April 11, in New York, models stood alongside picture windows with stunning Manhattan views in equally jaw-dropping gowns, where elements of nature added whimsical details to the dresses.

Romantic embellishments like butterflies, branches, twigs, wheat stalks and feathers were woven into soft layers of tulle and organza and floral embroideries were appliqued onto sheer corsets.

“I thought this season it was about showing your figure off,” said Lhuillier after the presentation.

To that end, Lhuillier introduced some shorter dress lengths, one of which was a convertible dress that could go from long to short.

“Instead of changing dresses, why not have one dress?” said Lhuillier, noting that more and more her customer was asking for an all-purpose wedding ceremony and reception option.

A lean trumpet silhouette also dominated this season, “bringing out the diva-ness of the girls,” said Lhuillier.

Trumpet gowns “accentuate your curves,” explained Lhuillier. “They’re best for hourglass figures. Also if you’re petite, it elongates your silhouette.”
